Thomas's first day of school!!!

Well, today was the day. You drop your child ( or grandchild) off at school....in the care of someone else.
Today was a good day for Thomas. He walked in like he had been doing this for years. I think we were as excited as he was. We were blessed because we are very comfortable with the school. Living in a small community for many years has the advantage of knowing most everybody you have contact with. Although our area has grown somewhat over the last few years, there is still a sense of closeness among us. The schools principle has been a friend of ours for many years. Her husband grew up in church with my husband. We lived with them ( in their basement) when we were building our house. It is a great memory.
The school is named for one of my closest friends husbands. He was the principle there before he passed away due to Leukemia. His daughter gave birth earlier this summer to a sweet little girl whom they named after him
Mrs. Patterson ( Thomas's teacher) is Laura's best friends sister-in-law. Laura, Andrea and Jana were all expecting their first child at the same time. Their girls are all starting school today. Riley (Mrs. Patterson's daughter) is in class with Thomas. Maddie will go to school in town. Thomas's best friend Emma will start school tomorrow.(their school phases the kindegarteners in over a 3 day period.) They will have much to talk about.
I look forward to tomorrow too. The little ones start mothers day out. They think they are as big as Thomas. More pictures coming.
God is good all the time.
