Thank you God for answered prayers

I was reminded today about God's provisions for us. His grace to us and how he cares for our wants and our needs.
One of the greatest treasures in my life is the love of my siblings. One of the reasons we love one another is because we had the best example of love in and from our parents. Something I read from James Dobson years ago was "the best thing parents can do for their children is to love one another" meaning parents loving and respecting one another. My mom and dad have always shown love to one another and to us. One of my favorite memories of my childhood is the time we would all gather around mom and dad's bed at night, on our knees praying together. I always went to bed knowing I was loved by my parents and by God.Thank you God for loving parents.

I am blessed with 2 sisters and 2 brothers. There are only about 8 and a half years from the oldest to the youngest. I am the middle child. (and remember the middle child is the most well adjusted)!!!!!! Although we don't live close we all make the effort to be together as much as possible. I am able to go home 3 or 4 times a year, my parents travel to see me and my family 3 or 4 times a year as well. My brothers and sisters make the effort to be here as often as work, family and responsibilities allow them. Thank you God for loving siblings.

About 10 and a half years ago my sister ( who is only 18 months older than myself) was diagnosed with cancer. It was a scary time for all of us. She had a lump in her neck. When she had it removed her doctor said he did not believe it was cancer, but the pathology report came back malignant. She had another surgery at M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston to remove some of her salivary glands in her face. Her doctors recommended radiation, but after much research Laura declined. We all prayed diligently for her healing. After her surgery I was able to go spend a few days with her during her recovery. She taught me how to clean her drain tubes and redress her neck where her incision was. One of the sweetest memories I have was at her house during this time. My momma, my sister and myself were sitting in her kitchen at her kitchen table about to eat lunch. I think mom had probably made homemade pimento cheese (she makes the best and we always ask for it when I am home). My momma prayed the sweetest prayer thanking God for her girls and asking for Lauras health to be restored. I will never forget the feeling, it was so special. Thank you God for a praying, believing Mother.
Laura was healed completly. Thank you God for your grace to our family. Thank you for answered prayer.
Laura has 4 children and 3 beautiful grandchildren who adore her as we do. I have a sweet daughter that carries my sisters' name (Laura Leigh). Laura (my sister )has a daughter named Laura as well. When we do get to go home we have three Laura's. God is good all the time. Thank you God for the blessings of family.
I think this pictures was probably about 1959 or 1960. I am on the left and Laura is on the right.
This picture was taken Thanksgiving when we were home. Again, Barb on the left, Laura on the right. Blessings Memaw Barbie

Hi Barbara! Mom called me earlier today and said to be sure and check your blog. I rarely get on the computer so I am so glad mom called. It's been ten years now since the doctors told me I had cancer. I am so very thankful to be healed of that awful disease. I thank God for His direction during that particular time in my life.

I also remember how you dropped everything to come be with me after I had the surgery at M. D. Anderson. As busy as you are, you still make everyone you know feel very special and loved.

You were certainly correct in saying our mom and dad set a wonderful example of love. We are blessed because of them.

I love you and your sweet family. I look forward to seeing you very soon. Have a wonderful Christmas and new year.

Your sis,
Laura
