Another great memory

So, we started Saturday with Paula Dean. Can you say HUNGRY??? I decided we needed a little breakfast.

Dave and I had made homemade strawberry jelly this summer. It sure tastes good in November. We ate on my Christmas dishes and listened to Christmas music.

We started the decorating at my house. I have an assortment of things on my tree from items my children made growing up and a few newer items for my grandkids. Some of my favorites are ornaments my daughter gets me every year with my grandsons names on them. I love them.

We decided to shop Saturday afternoon. We didn't get home until around midnight Saturday night. We spent the night at my house again and we each went to our own churches on Sunday. We met up after church at Juju's to do her decorating.
These are a few of her prized posessions.

I think there is a little history behind this penguinJuju always sets a beautiful table.

On to Lorie's Sunday afternoon. A few of her prized posessions.

Lorie's mother made this nativity set when Lorie's children were little. She was so excited when she got it! She said she could not wait to show it to somebody. She carefully placed it on her mantle and waited to show it off. The UPS guy arrived with a package. She made him come in and see her new Nativity scene. She was so proud. She cried, can you imagine that?

Emma came to help us at Lorie's. What fun Christmas is in the eyes of a child.

Of course we had to stop for Pizza. We had worked up an appetite.
Thank you John.

Isn't that a beautiful little boy with Santa in that picture on the tree? Can you guess who it might be?

Did I mention we had a wonderful breakfast on Saturday?

I'm still learning this blogging thing. I got my pictures in backwards!

We started Saturday morning with breakfast. We ate on Christmas dishes and listened to Christmas music.

Well, the weekend is over. It was another good one thanks to Lorie and Juju. One of the fun things is hearing each others memories of Christmases past. That's kind of what you do when you decorate. Remember times past with children, friends and family.
We accomplished all we set out to do and what fun. It will take me a day or two to get over the lack of sleep. We stayed up pretty late Friday and Saturday nights, but oh well, I can catch up soon enough.
I have another great weekend to look forward to. I am going home to visit family and my kids and their families are going also. What could be any better than that? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Time with parents, brothers, sisters, my children and grandchildren. Love it. God is good all the time. Of course there will be lots of pictures to come.
I don't want to get into Christmas without enjoying Thanksgiving as well. So....here are a few thoughts...
We do have so much to be thankful for. Gods grace to us. He gives us so much to enjoy in life. I think giving us family is only a taste of what it will be like with Him in heaven. Just a glimpse of the unspeakable joy we have to look forward to.
The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in him, and I am helped, my heart leaps with joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Thank you Lord for the joys that you give to us. Thank you for your grace, your love to me and my family. Thank you for the gift of hope in times of sorrow. Help me Lord to remember that all things work together for the good of those that love you and are called according to God's purpose. Thank you that we can trust in you and know that you are in control. Amen
